Guest: A Changeling Tale by Mary Downing Hahn

Book Review: Guest: A Changeling Tale

Rating: 3.75 out of 5

We all know fairies as these wonderful creatures, who wish blessing upon people, and protect us. What if I told you that in this book, the fairies are evil, and take people's babies? Are you intrigued yet? This book is a fantasy novel, and one genre that I like besides horror and thrillers is fantasy. Guest: A Changeling Tale is great for any reader who wants to read a short but interesting read.

Guest: a Changeling Tale is written by Mary Downing Hahn, a young adult author. It is a fantasy novel, based on Irish folklore. It follows the common theme of changelings, who are evil-fairy children, sent to replace the parents' real baby.

When an evil group of sprites called the Kinde Folk replace Mollie's brother with a rude and ill-tempered changeling, everything in Mollie's life starts to fall apart. She is now stuck with this changeling; whom she called "Guest," and is determined to return the changeling to the Kinde Folk and get her brother back. The road is full of magical and arduous obstacles for Mollie, but to find her brother, Mollie is willing to do anything.
